Carolina squat banned, and why you as an automotive enthusiast should be concerned
The Carolina squat as it has become known is a modification to trucks and suvs in which the front of the vehicle is lifted and the rear is lowered. This creates many issues including but not limited to a poor line of sight for the driver, improperly aligned headlights and steering and suspension geometry changed that causes the vehicle to perform poorly. My point of this article is not that I disagree with the decision to do this, it is that this freedom being removed, means the freedoms you enjoy may be next on the chopping block. Here is a link to the law passing and what it entails:

Unsafe vehicles have no business on our roads, but who determines where to draw the line of safe and unsafe? Lawmakers are not typically car people and they very well may say that altering a vehicle in any way is unsafe, what's stopping them?
Now that the door has been opened to making one kind of vehicle modification illegal, the modifications you enjoy may be next. One way that you can help prevent this from happening is your support for the RPM act (which refers to racing more so than it does for street cars) at the link below:

There is a huge passion for modifying vehicles and most modifications are completely safe and legal now. We need to unite and keep our passion for modifying our vehicles safe.
