Drama in Abu Dhabi, The F1 finale
Some of you may know that I recently became enamored by Formula 1. I am a big fan of Red Bull and Max Verstappen as well. For that reason I will try to make this post as unbiased as possible, however if I lean towards favoring Max, you know why.
The main point behind this article is, don't ever quit because the race isn't over until it's over. Lewis Hamilton was absolutely beating Max all race long, to the tune of a 12 second time gap, when an untimely safety car came out due to Nicholas Latifi having a crash. This caused the field to bunch up and a questionable call to allow only 4 of the lap cars around the safety car. The big decision that swayed the result was Red Bull and Max pitting for new tires, while Mercedes and Lewis did not pit for new tires.
Max didn't lead a single lap until the one that mattered, the last one, giving him the win and the 2021 Formula 1 Championship.
Don't quit, don't ever quit, you never know when a safety car will change the course of your race.
