State of the Automotive Industry, and industry in general

Never did I imagine we would be here.  Where exactly is here?  Here is where parts orders that used to take 3-4 days from order placed to arrival are now taking 18 weeks or more. 

Not only are these orders taking an exorbitant amount of time to arrive, there is no communication from the manufacturers and wholesalers that are accepting these orders.  The money is taken immediately, and that's the last you hear from them unless you follow up with them.  Even at that time it takes several follow ups to get a response.  

While the first part of this post may sound like a complaint, which it partially is, the main message is that regardless of what industry you are in, the corona virus has disrupted supply chains everywhere, not just automotive.  It has created large gaps that will take months or even years to get caught back up. All of this may leave you asking, what can I do? The solution now is very simple, practice patience, be kind and try to treat the people that are still working to get your orders to you with the respect they deserve.  

Focus your energy on the things you can control, manage the things you can't.
